University of Georgia students have the right to appeal academic decisions.
Petitions Subcommittee of the Educational Affairs Committee
At the university level, appeals are considered by the Petitions Subcommittee of the Educational Affairs Committee (EAC) of the University Council. The Petitions Subcommittee is comprised of three faculty members from the EAC. The chair of EAC serves as the chair of the Petitions Subcommittee. The Office of the Vice President for Instruction provides administrative support for the EAC and the Subcommittee, and maintains records of the Subcommittee including student files and other pertinent materials.
The EAC Petitions Subcommittee generally meets each month during the academic year. Below are the meeting dates for the 2021-22 academic year.

DATES FOR THE 2023 - 2024 ACADEMIC YEAR ARE CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW AND WILL BE POSTED IN JULY. STUDENTS ARE STILL ABLE TO SUBMIT APPEALS AT THIS TIME.
